When surfing the internet, if you want to open a document to preview it before downloading it to your computer or you only want to read it online, what should you do? Yes, Open IT Online can help you.
Open IT Online is a very helpful add-on for Firefox. It can help your online work be easier and more faster. You don’t need to download any document to your PC to read it. This is very helpful, specially if you only want to read it once and don’t want to read it again, so need not to store it on your hard disks.
Open IT Online allows you to open your documents and images online without the need of any software to be installed. Open IT Online supports Google Docs, Google Apps, Zoho and ThinkFree online services. It handles:
- Documents (*.doc, *.rtf, *.odt, *.sxw)
- Spreadsheets (*.xls, *.csv, *.ods, *.sxc)
- Presentations (*.ppt, *.pps, *.odp, *.sxi)
- Images (*.jpg, *.gif, *.png)
When Firefox encounters one of the file types supported by Open IT Online, it shows the “Open With” dialog: if you have installed Open IT Online, you will get, among the others, an option to open the file online. Choosing this option, you will also have the possibility to choose which online service you want to use to open the file.
Open IT Online shows you also the file size of the document you could see online: this information helps you determining if you want to open the file online or not.
